Passion 2007 Conference

This year’s Passion 2007 College Conference has wrapped up as 23,000+ people attended. Since this is a big impacter of college students, here is a round-up of things related to the conference:

You can watch the sessions from the conference for free at 268generation.com through midnight Friday, January 12th — so act fast.

John Piper has posted online his Passion 2007 address, How to Deal with the Guilt of Sexual Failure for the Glory of Christ and His Global Cause. (HT: Between Two Worlds)

The great tragedy is not mainly masturbation or fornication or acting like a peeping Tom (or curious Cathy) on the internet. The tragedy is that Satan uses the guilt of these failures to strip you of every radical dream you ever had, or might have, and in its place give you a happy, safe, secure, American life of superficial pleasures until you die in your lakeside rocking chair, wrinkled and useless, leaving a big fat inheritance to your middle-aged children to confirm them in their worldliness. That’s the main tragedy.

John Piper was asked: “At the Passion07 breakout session you used language that seemed inappropriate to some. Will you explain why you did that?” Here is his answer. (HT: Between Two Worlds)

Here is a testimony about the conference from my friend Tim at Delicate Discourse.

thanks for the shout out, and the link to Piper’s comments about his choice of words. We had several students from our ministry in that session, and it was the talk of Passion that day. I think many people were quick to laugh it off or give some grace considering it was John Piper.
