Pastor Phillip has served as Central’s Lead Pastor since 2020 and works to shepherd the church’s people and it’s unique vision of being a place where every generation is reaching the next generation with the gospel.

Before Central, he graduated with degrees in accounting and finance from Texas A&M before heading to Southern Baptist Theological Seminary where he received an MDiv in Christian Ministry, a PhD in Systematic Theology, and served on the faculty as Assistant Professor of Christian Theology. Following that he spent seven years serving as Executive Vice President for the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, where he worked to equip churches across the country on how to apply the gospel to the complex moral and ethical issues of the day.

On top of that, he is the author of multiple works, including his most recent book, Exalting Jesus in Genesis. Some of the things that he is most passionate about are making disciples, training leaders, and (as the 25th Aggie in his family) following all things Texas A&M related. He is married to Cami and together they have four sons.
